Life is funny. I have been showcasing art at my website for 8years now. In those 8years I have shown WITH THEIR Permission over 200artists! I have a rather extensive collection of prints and a much smaller collection of Originals. I admit some pieces I bought to help the artists, many pieces I bought because at the time I truly adored them. Most of those artists have evolved greatly over the years.
Today I want to feature here just a SMALL Sample of the art I have personally bought or been gift over the years that are also viewable here at DA. Many of the pieces in my collection are no longer viewable anywhere that I know of such is the age of this collection.
Why today... Because Today I received in the mail FINALLY After EIGHT Years the First Artwork That captured my attention of one of those artists. Life has a way of wandering and I had not purchased that print until recently though I have other prints from the same artist.

That is pretty cool of you to do. If things were different for me financially right now I'd definately buy more art here on DA. I have bought some--not nearly as much as I'd like though

it's taken me 8years to amass my collection!! However, I did not buy a single print or original through DA. I bought all of them directly from the artists. A lot of the time I have spent the equivalent of a pizza delivery for a print. The originals are another story simply put had I saved the money I put into art from others I could have bought my dream SLR Camera. But I think dividing the "wealth" rather than buying one thing for me was a better "Value"

I'd rather buy direct from the artist. They get more money that way. DA take a pretty large chunk of basic print sales unless the artist or photographer sets thier own price and then the price may be too high for many folks.

It's good to share the wealth and support people, but you also have to reward yourself, too

I recently put off buying the lens I wanted in favor of helping some of the other deviants here--one had lost his camera, one was about to lose thier home and another was headed in that direction and a couple more needed support in the way of 3 month subscriptions, so Instead of buying the lens I wanted--I found a different one that was cheaper (same quality though) and would have bought anyway at a later date.

Now, instead of just me feeling good--5-6 other people feel good too

exactly!! I try to help where I can as well
and I treated myself buy some blank acea watercolor precut into aceo cards to paint and give away lol
